Perhaps you could also summarise the order of service that Paul declares. I don't think he does that. He speaks about the things that happen when the ecclesia comes together to break bread, but not the 'order of service' as an ecclesia might understand those words.

Dear Chester Draws
I sometimes get the feeling that we become a little robotic in our worship. Though I have felt that it doesn't make it a reality. My other brethren's worship is in all likelihood heart felt - so who am I to criticise?
Look I have visted other churches over the years -even Pentecostal ones. I don't mind some features of Pentecostal meetings eg the music but other things make me feel uncomfortable eg the singers standing up on stage like rock stars with their images on a big TV screen. Why would you need that?
Also the coming up to the front, being slayed type stuff is a bit dubious.
The jury is out for me on the holding up of hands. One thing about that is that it is an outward show and therefore introduces real scope for hypocrisy arising from putting up your hands even when you don't feel that way - as sometimes we do.
We need to be aware of how humans love to make a big deal of all things outward to the detriment of things of the heart.
I am not against changes in format and style and sequence - but at all times we must remember it's not entertainment but worship. Let's not get carried away with the superficial.

Hi Peter

It is possible to become robotic I suppose. I wasn't advocating that. I believe that we have freedom within certain constraints.

Paul says in 1 Cor what should happen when we break bread - but, depending on the reply of Evangelion, he doesn't give an order of service or dictate what we should say in prayers to God.

Therefore to become rule bound over such minor details (when to stand) to me seems straining over nothing.
