Default Evangelion Needs Our Help

Evangelion is interested in being a part of debate with a trinitarian. He needs our votes to be selected for the debate. You can vote here.

The poll list is on the right hand side. Ev is the one described as a "Christadelphian pastor and forum leader".

I think Ev would represent our position VERY well in a debate! Let's support him!

Have done - I notice Ev is well in the lead at the moment. It will be good to see a christadelphian in a public debate like that. and a blog gives you time to think about the answers before replying. The only down side is its harder to 'see' the emotions of a person in written form. Somehow your words have to convey a feeling of calm reasoned debate. - not always easy when there's no facial expression and body language to see.

You can write or :| or even :Z. It's not a good substitute for raw human emotion though.

Default Australia?

Dear Evangelion
Sutton Coldfield is in the UK but you say you are from Australia.
Do you come from Perth WA?

Yes I am originally from Perth WA. I moved to the UK in January 2004, where I became a member of Sutton Coldfield. I returned to Australia in October 2009 and now live in Adelaide (I visited Cumberland just a few weeks ago!) My wife and I have not transferred to a local ecclesia yet.

Rob Bowman is a premier evangelical theologian in the USA. He specialises in Christian apologetics and is a member of the evangelical "counter-cult" movement (which exists primarily to attack any form of Christianity which evangelicals consider heretical). His professional qualifications are considerable and he has worked alongside other high-profile American evangelical leaders.

Bowman is well known and highly regarded in the American evangelical community. He has authored and co-authored a dozen books and written about sixty articles. Trinitarianism is one of his specialities.

Well, the poll is in and I have been confirmed as the non-Trinitarian who will debate Rob Bowman.

I would like to thank everyone who voted for me during the past few days. I have been overwhelmed by the amazing support from Christadelphians all over the world!

The debate will be conducted on Rob Bowman's blog (here: http://tinyurl.com/ykuokzr) at a date yet to be agreed. I will also be posting my responses at the Bible Truth Discussion Forum (here: www.thechristadelphians.org/forums). You will not need to become a member of the forum in order to read the debate, but you are very welcome to do so.

The debate will run for a total of six weeks. Please follow it as closely as you can, since there will be another poll afterwards to determine the winner of the debate. Further details will be provided as soon as I have them.

Thanks again to you all and praise to God for this great opportunity to provide a witness for our faith.

Love in Christ,

Evangelion

Default Rallying to the Cause

Interestingly I was at Cumberland Ecclesia SA last night and I was relating the story of the on line voting, and he told me that he got an email from someone asking him to vote for Evangelion.

Well, it managed to get all the way around the world. Even Christadelphians in Texas were voting for me!

You don't need to register for anything. Just wait until the debate gets going.
