My name is Erik, I belong to no Chrurch or Group, I remember ( as oft ) the
absent Lord, Jesus the Messiah.
I read the Bible daily, and also read any other book on Bible subjects that I can lay my hands on. the whole of bible teaching is important to me, but from
that the subject of the Last Day(s) and that of Atonement is that of most
interest.
I look forward to getting to be able to post on the Forum, the notices say that I am not able to do so yet, so I hope this gets through.

Peter, It is moving forward steady, but it has not reached Australia yet.
I hear on another Forum that there is a group called 'Logos Publications'.
who print a copy of book ' Elpis Israel' as it was first written, and not as
the Christadelphian Press in the Uk, issue.
Is this so ? and if so what are the differences ? Erik.

Yes There is a company called Logos Publications. From the 1950s to 1980s it wieldeda lot of influence amongst Christadelphians here in Australia and in Canada and the US. However after HP Mansfield ("verse by verse Perce" as he was called) died the company was taken over by his son and thereafter lost that influence. So much influence did it have in that era that ecclesias in Australia were called either Shield or Logos meetings. That distinction does not apply anymore -and I think very much for the better - it was a very rigid period
As to a different version of Elpis Israel being published by them - I have no idea. I've got a copy of Elpis Israel. It was published in 1970 by the Christadelphian in Birmingham.

Peter, Thank you for your Reply, I guess that this Post will no doubt be now
on the wrong Thread, although it is still about myself.
In the 1960's I knew a Christadelphian Brother, who came from OZ to the UK.
He told me about Shield and Logos magazines and I subscribed to them both
for about 4 years, I also used to get a small publication sent me called ' Palm Trees of Smoke', + from time to time articles from 'Joy Group or Joy Fund'.
That Brother, had come from an Ecclesia called ' Townsville' and found it hard
to get an Ecclesia near here to take him in, I do not know which of the groups
Townsville belonged to.
I read Elpis Israel, the one from Cdn Publishers in Uk, but I am told that it had
been Edited in a number of Places, and that the 'Logos' printing was as original. Thanks Again.

Now that you mention it I do remember some special edition being printed here in the 1980s but I don't have a copy.
Townsville may have been Old Paths - I'm not sure. I'm from outside and even though I have been around the traps for over 30 years, I've never been that interested in the hard ecclesial politics and sorting out all the different fellowships. As I've got older I have become more and more opposed to the readiness with which people split. I think Christ does not want us to do that.

The "original", i.e. 4th edition (1866) which was the last one published by Dr Thomas himself, is still for sale from Logos and The Dawn Book Supply.

Online editions:
Logos 4th edition reprint (2000) pdf
9th edition (1910) in a wide variety formats
15th edition (2000) html
